Before electricians are allowed to work without supervision, they are usaully required to serve an apprentiecship lasting from 3 to 5 years under the general supervision of a Master Electircian and usually the direct suprevision of a Journeyman Electrician. Schooling in electriacl theory and electrical building codes is usually required to cmoplete the apprenticeship progrma.
